Match report

This is a short match report from your one handed coach.

HRC managed to get 15 players on the pitch whereas Turku looked stronger than ever...not good at all, we need a full team next week if we want to make it to the semis.

Well, then to good things. WE WON!!! What a great battle from the 15 HRC soldiers! I'm so proud of each and every player. Both teams started up with some nice forward running. Defensive lines made some great tackles. Then Turku took the control and were able to keep us on our toes inside our 22. Fortunately in the end of the first half we pushed our way thru Turku lines. Then our scrum half Tony Brick played a brilliant quick ball after a ruck creating a scoring opportunity for Petri Peltola who played his first game for the 1st team. Great finish by Petri (36mins) and a nice conversion by Juhani put us up by 7 points.

HRC was able to control the beginning of second half but slowly the 15 were getting a bit tired leading to some scrumble balls and poor passing. Turku forced us back to our 22 and even further. Our solid tackling kept them without a try. Quickly after Avea Avea "powerhouse" Avea was released, great running and passing led to a brilliant try (60mins) and HRC was leading 12-0. The last 20minutes were a struggle to both sides. Tiredness made us lose control and we became somewhat undisciplined. Luckily the lads were able to maintain their focus and Turku was left without a try. Final score 12-0 and HRC is still in business to reach the semis. Hopefully we get a full squad against Tampere next week.

Dick of the day: everyone who missed this game
